This weekends adventures kept us close to the northern home base of Fremont. This small town is full of friendly people who still enjoy small town life. With a population of just over 4,000 people. Founded in November of 1855 by a group of settlers following Daniel Weaver. The city got its name from John C Fremont who once ran for president in the late 1800's under the republican party ticket.
Fremont is best known for being the Baby Food Capitol of the world. Gerber Baby Food was founded by Frank Gerber and started out as the Fremont Canning Company before changing names to Gerber.
Fremont offers plenty of things to do throughout the year. In the fall they have Gerber Days, a festival similar to one of your county fairs. They set up rides in the middle of downtown. They also have a fall festival a few weeks later along with the Crash Bash in October.
Travel with the Hat. Wonder and see new places and undiscovered locations through the eyes of the photographer Jeff. Will the hat visit your town soon?
